Built to the toughest standards in the industry, Twin Disc PTOs can handle everything you can give them.  And they can handle it day after day after day.  You'll find toughness, reliability and a full range of features throughout the entire Twin Disc PTO line which includes the HPTO 244, HPTO 140, and the HPTO 366.

A "Clutch" Performer:
These Twin Disc PTOs feature a self-adjusting hydraulically actuated clutch utilizing the same technology that makes Twin Disc transmission so famous.  The oil-filled, multiple-disc clutch gives them an extraordinary durability that means long life and low maintenance.  With this system, the oil pressure is generated by a built-in hydraulic pump rotating at engine speed.   To maximize efficiency, the hydraulic pump, which is on the primary shaft, rotates as soon as the engine is running.

Electric Remote Control:
With heat exchange and electric remote control, the Twin Disc HPTO line is especially useful in marine applications and offers high efficiency with low cost operation.  Additionally, input torsional couplings dampen torsional vibrations.  Versatile and rugged, lightweight and compact, these units can be used in a wide variety of applications including:

Twin Disc has a PTO for Every Application

Twin Disc Power Take Offs are suitable for application to all internal combustion engines with standard SAE flywheel housing dimensions from No. 6 through No. 00.  The PTOs contain clutches ranging in size from one plate 6.5" to one plate 14"; in two plate size from 11.5" to 18"; and three plate size from 14" to 21".

Straddle Bearing

The Straddle Bearing PTO is available in a 3 PLT 18", 3 PLT 14", and 3 PLT air clutch.  They are explicitly designed for high horsepower, high side load, heavy duty applications.  Rugged benefit features include cast iron housings, cylindrical roller bearings, nodular drive ring and ball bearing throw out collar.   Additionally, the need for an engine mounted pilot bearing has been eliminated.

3 Plate, 18" Clutch.   Use of the PO318 Air Clutch allows for remote engagement.  Additionally, the need for an engine mounted pilot bearing has been eliminated.

Inline PTOs

Available in 2 Plate 14", 3 PLT 14" & 18".  These PTOs are a variation of the standard in the industry - the SP style inline power take off.  New, innovative arrangement of the two main ball bearings, coupled with the standard SP clutch, results in a PTO dedicated to heavy duty inline applications.  Furthermore, the need for an engine mounted pilot bearing has been eliminated.

Important Notices:   Disregarding system torsional compatibility could cause damage to the components in the drive train resulting in loss of mobility or power transmission for which the drive is intended.  At minimum, system incompatibility could result in unwanted noise and vibration at low speeds.  The responsibility for ensuring that the torsional compatibility of the system is satisfactory rests with the assembler of the drive and driven equipment.  Torsional vibration analysis can be made by the engine builder, independent consultants and others.  Twin Disc is prepared to assist in finding solutions to potential torsional problems that relate to power take off, pump mount PTO, or Rubber Block Drives.
